About Us

Crann Beatha (pronounced vah-ha), meaning tree of life, has opened its doors in CultΓΊrlann UΓ ChanΓ‘in, the Irish language and cultural centre on Great James’ Street in Derry.

After running the much-loved Eskimo CafΓ© just up the street from the CultΓΊrlann, owner Una McCole made the decision to move the cafΓ© space a couple of blocks down.

Una said: "It’s a real privilege to be based in such a unique and exciting space as the CultΓΊrlann! As someone born and raised in Donegal, it’s wonderful to be able to combine our cafΓ© offering to this hub of activity that celebrates the rich cultural heritage which I grew up loving.
